Great news for all of you amateur, online farmers. In other words, those I loathe. FarmVille is coming to your mobile device, be it iPhone, iPad or Android.
At present there are more than 80 million amateur farmers (expert losers) playing the popular Facebook game. Now hopefully all of you will move your digital manure shoveling from the site of the social media giant and on to the more intimate setting of your mobile phone.

Nook
Barnes & Noble's awesome? Nook e-reader can now be had at Best Buy starting April 18. Hooray?
At a cost of $259.99, the Nook may just be the colorful e-reader for you. Or not.
Up until this news, the Nook has been hard to come by, but with their pending availability at Best Buy, perhaps greater adoption of the device by those in love with Barnes & Noble and/or reading may be in the offing. Not likely. Best Buy also sells the iPad, and if you walked up to a display for each, which would you choose, the iPad or the Nook? As an owner of both the Kindle and iPad, I prefer the Kindle for reading, perhaps I am getting old, but too much reading on the iPad's awesome screen hurts my eyes, I am not, nor will I ever be, in the market for a Nook. Will you?

Slate
The HP Slate may or may not be an iPad killer. From reviews of what each device has to offer, it appears each has their pros and cons and aim for entirely different target markets. Seemingly the Slate can do more at a lower price, while being larger, heavier and with half of the Apple iPad's battery capacity. I am a fan of Apple and have one iPad with another on the way. Will I get a Slate? No, but many will. And like with everything else, to each his/her own.

Looking for apps for that brand spanking new iPad? According to
Mobclix, there are a total of 3,122 iPad apps in the store. 80 percent of the iPad apps in the store require one to pay something, coming in at 2523 apps total, whereas only 599 of the apps in the App Store for the iPad are free, 20 percent of all apps.
Further, 942 of the 3,000 plus apps are games, 804 of these apps are paid apps, 138 are free. Mobclix says the average price of apps are $4.99; and to buy them all at this point you will only have to pay $12,572.78. To date, what is your favorite app?

To say that people went a little crazy of the iPad's launch yesterday is an understatement. According to
The Loop has released a report estimating first-day iPad sales in the range of 600,000-700,000, well pre-launch estimates of 200,000-300,000.
Piper Jaffray Senior Research Analyst, Gene Munster, on Saturday said he believes Apple sold between 600-700 thousand iPads on the first day. This includes the pre-orders that would have been coming in since March 12.
Might the iPad outsell the original iPhone over the initial few months of sales? Note: the iPhone took 74 days to reach one million units sold. Will the iPad beat that? It appears so.
The launch was also limited to Wi-Fi models (we received one) and to the United States. 3G-capable models (we are waiting on one) in the U.S. will launch later this month with high sales expected.

The Universe's Wi-Fi iPad has not arrived at our Iroquois Longhouse headquarters yet, but when it does, we have found the resource for setting it up. That's right, you can't just stick the cord into the one thing and then the other thing or turn the thing on and hope the thing and all of its things work.

No Microsoft Office on my iPad? Who cares? So I can't use Word, Excel, or Powerpoint? Excellent. I prefer Pages, Numbers, and Keynote anyway. The programs are more slick, easier to use and well, just better. The three applications have been redesigned for the iPad and priced at $10 a piece. Getting an iPad, get the apps and enjoy...

Apple iPad available tomorrow! No really. Holding the knowledge in my minuscule brain think that not everyone is excited about the iPad, will not purchase an iPad, and in fact (gasp) may even pray for the demise of the iPad and Apple this Good Friday, presented herein are alternatives to the iPad you can get you hands on now, with features that make the
iPad seem like an inadequate machine before it even arrives.

Included is the free Neflix app, letting Netflix subscribers browse and manage their queues. More importantly, it will also allow subscribers to stream Netflix's online collection of videos. There's also a free ABC app tipped for April 3rd giving iPad owners WiFi access to full episodes of shows.
