Apple "Rate on Delete" Deleted

, In , ,

We all know (and I hate) the "rate on delete" iPhone prompt that pops up when one removes an app from one's iPhone.

Added by Apple in version 2.2 of the iPhone OS as a way to stop users from rating apps that they had not downloaded, I am not sorry to see the "feature" go.

Shockingly, "intelligent" developers noticed that the feature had a negative effect given that it was used by those who were typically unhappy with an app, not by those who kept apps they liked on their phone because they never saw the prompt.

Goodbye "rate on delete." I will not be sad to see it go.  Will you?
