Google and Verizon working on a tablet computer? Now that’s news!

The Wall Street Journal reported today that that Google plans to bring a tablet computer to market with Verizon Wireless.

Verizon’s CEO told The Wall Street Journal, ”We’re looking at all the things Google has in its archives that we could put on a tablet to make it a great experience.”

Seemingly a day does not go by without some sort of Apple versus Google news.  Yesterday Google claimed mobile OS superiority with Apple claiming mobile hardware superiority. 

Couple today’s tablet news with yesterday’s story that the Apple exclusivity agreement with AT&T runs through 2012, the notion of the iPhone coming to Verizon seems like a long shot at best.
